Abstract | ||||
This work was carried out on twelve clinically healthy adult Barki rams, divided into two equal groups. The first one was served as control and each animal of the second group was injected subcutaneously with one dose of 0.2 mg ivermectin /Kg body weight. Ivermectin treated group revealed a significant elevation in blood serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, gamma glutamyl transferase, arginase, sorbitol dehydrogenase and total cholesterol. Meanwhile, ivermectin did not evoke any significant alteration in serum urea and creatinine levels. A very important conclusion that appears to be surfacing from the previous results is that this study represent further image of the hazardous effect of ivermectin in rams. Ivermectin inflected deleterious effects reflected as hepatic dysfunction. | ||||
