Abstract | ||||
In the present investigation, 39 morphometric measurements were used to study intra- and inter specific patterns of variation of Bagrus bayad and Bagrus docmac populations from the Nile at Assiut (27N) and Giza (30 N) areas. In order to reveal such patterns of variation, analysis of variance, bivariate allometric coefficient, cluster analysis and canonical variates analysis were applied. It was found that application of canonical variates analysis on the head and depth measurement sets provided greater separation between sexes, populations and species considered than did the general and fin measurement sets. | ||||
