Abstract | ||||
This study evaluates the feasibility of using of polymer with effective microorganism (EM1) to improvement of dewater ability of sludge which is produced from secondary settling tank in Mosul medical city wastewater treatment plant. Nine different doses from polymer were used (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40,50, and 100 mg/l). To improvement of performance of polymer effective microorganism (EM1), percentages of 1, 2 % from volume of treated sludge was used, In addition to that polymer and EM1 used alone to investigate the effective for each one. The specific resistance to filtration (SRF) was used as an indicator to illustrate the best one from doses was used. The experimental results indicate that the best dose of polymer was 30 mg/ l when 1% from EM1 as addition dose was used, The study also shows that the SRF was varying inversely with the total solids, and furthermore the study showed that the relationship between RSF and concentration of total solid in filtrate solution was and reflected with pH filtrate solution. | ||||
