Abstract | ||||
Bacteriological examination was conducted through 37 newly born Fresien calves with navel infections. Escherichia coli, Corynebac terium pyogenes and B-haemolytic streptococci were the most predominent isolated bacterial invadors. These were all highly sensiti ve to Gentamicin which proved to be of high therapeutic efficacy when used both locally and systemically. Particular emphasis was given to the environmental predisposing factors for induction of such conditions to minimize the incidences of these infections with consequent reduction of the undesirable secondary drastic complica tions. Surgical interference was conducted when being indicated. | ||||
