Abstract | ||||
The objectives of this research were as follows: - Determining farmers knowledge degree with Agricultural Cycle System. - Farmers acceptance degree towards returning to Agricultural Cycle System. - Determining the relationship between some independent variables of farmers and their attitudes towards returning to Agricultural Cycle System. - Recognizing barriers facing farmers to accept returning to Agricultural Cycle System, and their suggestions to overcome these barriers. This research was done on 400 respondents as a sample from three villages of Ashmoun district, Minofyia governorate. Data were collected using a prepared personal questionnaire during November and December 2016. Data were analysed using frequency tables, percentages, average degree, simple correlation coefficient, and chi square (X2). Findings were as follows: - More than half of respondents (54.2%) their knowledge level with Agricultural Cycle System was high, less than three forth of respondents (72.7%) their feeling towards returning to Agricultural Cycle System was high, two third of respondents (65.5%) their acceptance to implement Agricultural Cycle System was high. Around two third of respondents (63.7%) their attitudes level towards returning to Agricultural Cycle System as total was high. - Farmers attitudes were affected with the following independent variables towards returning to Agricultural Cycle System: age, number of family members, membership < br />in social organizations, educational level, and main occupation. - The important barriers preventing farmers to return to Agricultural Cycle System were: knowledge level of farmers was weak with Agricultural Cycle advantages. - Difficulty of farmers to coordinate with neighbors to unify time of planting, Agricultural area was small, farmers cannot plant other crops for the family or to feed animals, farmers who are eager to implement Agricultural Cycle were not enough, and weak trust among farmers. - The important suggestions of farmers to overcome the barriers preventing them to return to Agricultural Cycle System were: identified farmers with advantages of Agricultural Cycle, exchanging experience among neighbors, recognizing farmers viewpoints about the way which used in application, activate agricultural extension organizations to support farmers with knowledge about Agricultural Cycle, setting a plan at certain period to implement all Agricultural processes in suitable time, increasing the effectiveness of Agricultural Cycle System, and seeking help from local leaders to convince farmers to return to Agricultural Cycle System. | ||||
