Abstract | ||||
A total of 496 hair samples were coliected from different speci. es of apparently healthy animais in differnt localities in Assiut City. Every sample was mycologically examined for the presence of pathogenic fungi. These investigation revealed that 37'(7.46%) of the examined specimens were cuiturally positive. Out of the isolated strains 6 (1.21%) were identified as Microsporum canis, 100.2%). Tric hophyton verrucosum, 1 (0.2%) Trichophyton equinum, 12(2.42%) Trichophyton mentagrophytes, 10 (2.02%) Microsporu'n gypseum, 2 (0.4%) Keratinomyces ajello, and 5 (1.01%) Trichophyton terr festre. The possible trends lading to human infection with zoophi lic fungi have been discussed. | ||||
