Abstract | ||||
A corrosion of the water pipelines and pumps in wells of Awaneen area (Libya) was detected after short period of its establishment. Biological and chemical analyses of the water samples of four wells were done. The sulfur reducing bacteria (SRB) was detected in the water samples. The results showed a strong correlation between the presence and activities of SRB and the corrosion of the pipelines suggesting a biological corrosion of the water pipelines in those wells. | ||||
