Abstract | ||||
Experiment of this work was carried out on a clay soil at Alabed village, which is located at east of Deir- ezzor during two successive growing seasons of 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 to study effect of Ascorbic acid, nitrogenous and phosphorous fertilization on productivity of wheat (Cham-4) as well as to determine the best method of treating wheat plants with the ascorbic acid. The obtained results showed that fertilizing wheat with full dose of N and P (150 kg N/ha and 100kg P2O5/ha) and treating wheat grains with a solution of ascorbic acid improve seed germination, increase seedlings emergence above the ground surface and entering spiking and complete maturity stages earlier . Thus, spraying wheat plants at tillering stage with ascorbic acid solution positively increased number of grains per spike, weight of a 1000grains and grain yield per unit area when was fertilized with 75kg N/ha and 50 kg P2O5/ha. Also, applying the full recommended fertilizer doses of N & P and spraying with ascorbic acid solution at tillering stag led to increase straw yield per unit area. | ||||
