Abstract | ||||
Synthesis of novel N-acyl hydrazones of nicotinic acid hydrazide via condensation of nicotinic acid hydrazide 3 with the corresponding aldehydes 1, 2 are described. Their hypolipidemic activities were evaluated in high cholesterol diet fed rat model. The hydrazones were found to decrease the levels of serum total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in hyperlipidemic rats to a greater degree than the reference gemfibrozil. | ||||
