Abstract | ||||
يعود تاريخ اليهود في ليبيا إلى قرون موغلة في القدم، ويعتقد بعض المؤرحون أنهم وجدوا في ليبيا أثناء حکم بطليموس لاجوس لمصر، وظل اليهود في ليبيا ينعمون بعلاقات طيبة مع بقية سکان ليبيا، حتى اندلاع الحرب العالمية الثانية ودخول بريطانيا الحرب ضد دول المحور، فتحالف اليهود الليبيون مع القوات البريطانية التي کانت تضم الفرقة اليهودية القادمة من فلسطين، وبدأت المواجهات باندلاع ثورة 1945م، ثم ثورة 1948م، في البدء کانت الهجرة مبادرة فردية ثم تحولت إلى حملات منظمة، وأثناء تلک الفترة هاجر معظم يهود ليبيا باتجاه إسرائيل وإيطاليا.
