Abstract | ||||
The research aims to measure the performance of some productive sectors in the Kuwaiti economy during the years 2000-2019, where the GDP achieved a growth rate of about 5.1%, and that the oil sector represented about 54%, and oil revenues represented 93% of the revenues, and the research indicated that the contribution of the agricultural sector It increased in the GDP, and the contribution of the oil sector declined due to the fluctuation in global oil prices, the manufacturing sector contributed about 5.9% of the GDP, the electricity and water sector increased its contribution to reach about 2.9%, the construction sector contributed about 2.5% and the contribution of the trade and retail sector about 4.5%. The transportation and warehousing sector increased by 7.5%, and the financial intermediation and insurance sector increased to reach 9.97%, and it was shown that the share of all sectors in the GDP other than the oil sector increased, and it indicated that the total revenues increased to reach 92.8% from oil, and non-oil to 6.2%, and the value of the surplus increased from 10.1 billion d. KD in 2009 to about 15.3 billion in 2012, an increase in spending from 11.3% (in 2009/2010) to about 17 billion and an increase in the volume of capital formation. Conclusively, the research recommends the need to expand the agricultural sector because of its great importance in providing the population with agricultural food products and working to reduce imports.
