Abstract | ||||
This study was carried out with the aim to identify the extension materials in some home economic fields of female agricultural extension workers programs directing to develop rural women in two govemorates; Alexandria and EI-Behaira. Data were collected from 102 interviewees who represent all female agricultural extension workers in the two studied govemorates. Pre-tested questionnaire was used to collect data during the period from September to October 2003, through the personal interview. Tables. frequencies and percentages were used to present and describe data of the study. The most results of the study can be summarized in the following: - The studied content in the three studied fields which were: public health. housing. food and nutrition was very little. as it was expressed in ratio by female agricultural extension workers despite their importance . • The most important extension content including into the work program of the female agricultural extension workers related to the following: housing ventilation. having vaccination in time specially for children. preventing throwing animals and died birds in the canal, building animals' pen outside the house and not inside, building local oven outside the house and not inside. preventing washing clothes and home containers in the canal. the hazardous of storing strum on the roof of the house. having clean water in the house for drinking and COOking. the importance of having suitable and enough lighting in the house, preventing throwing wastes in the canal. the importance of personal and public cleanliness of family members, and how to prepare complete and balance diets. - The study showed that the most important resources of information for the female extension workers in the previous studied fields were; training courses and project. The study also showed that the symposiums under the supervision home visits. training courses and symposiums for rural women leader were the most important extension methods used by the female agricultural extension workers. | ||||
