Abstract | ||||
This study aimed to identifying the rural women's vision about safety handling of environmental pollutants, to identify correlate and deterrnents of women's vision and identifying their perceptions about the harms of environmental pollution. To achieve these objectives a random sample of 215 rural women from four villages were selected from among rural women at Edrega, bakatouch (Kafr EI-Sheikh) and Nawage, Kafr EI-Shorbagy (Gharbia). The data were colleted throught personal interviews using pre-tasted questionnaire. Percentages, weighted means, correlations and step-wise regression were used to analyze the data. The main results of this study were as follows: - Most respondents were high or moderate levels of knowledge about the safety handling of environmental pollutants in all areas. - The respondent's vision for handling of environmental pollutants ranked as follows: saftey dealing with water, soil, nois,air, and food. - The four independent variables of ., Cosmopoliteness, age attitudes toward education and education, explained about 16% of the variance in respondent vision of safety handling of water pollutants. - The tow independents variables, Cosmopoliteness and aspiration, explained about 9% of variance in respondent's vision of safety handling of air pollutants. - The six independent variables: of opinion leadership, home appliances acceptance of change, informal participation, satisfaction with living in the village, and sources of information: explained about 22% of the variance in respondents vision of safety handling of soil pollutants. - Respondents were found tow perceive most of the harms cussed of environmental polloution. | ||||
