Abstract | ||||
The research mainly aimed to identify the irrigation problems confronting water user associations members', and characterize the current status of water user associations, as well as their contribution and suggestions in improving irrigation water management in the study area, and identify some of the social and economic characteristics of water user associations members'. In order to achieve the research objectives, a personal interview questionnaire was used to collect data from 340 respondents in some Nubaria villages. Some descriptive statistical methods were used in the data analysis, such as measures of central tendency and dispersion. The results concluded in identifying 15 irrigation problems confronting WUAs members', in some Nubaria villages, and arranging them according to the priority of intervention to solve them as follows: Administrative problems related to irrigation water, followed by technical problems, social problems, economic problems, and finally, problems of irrigation water quality. | ||||
