Abstract | ||||
Introduction: Pre-eclampsia was found to complicates 2–8% of all pregnancies globally, and responsible for 9% of maternal mortatlity in Africa and Asia. Mild pre-eclampsia is defined according to the new classification set by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as new-onset of high blood pressure of ≥ 140 to 159 mmHg systolic and/or 90 to 109 mmHg diastolic accompanied by proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation. In recent years, the immunological role in the pathogenesis of PET was the scope for many researches. CD4/CD8 ratio is a blood laboratory test that can be considered as a measure of the patient's immune system's imbalance that captures important information about disease progress, it measures the ratio of two important subtypes of white blood cells namely; Cluster of differentiation 4 (CD4+), which are responsible for guarding against infections and Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8+), which kill malignant cells and other noxious substances. | ||||
