The physical remedy profession is committed to transubstantiating society by optimizing movement to ameliorate the mortal experience. Physical therapists pursue excellence in a professional compass of practice that includes optimizing physical function, health, quality of life, and well- being across the lifetime, and they work to ameliorate population health in the communities where they exercise. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) attests to this commitment by espousing and promoting the following Norms of Practice for Physical Therapy. These norms are the profession’s statement of conditions and performances that are essential for provision of high- quality professional service to society, and they give a foundation for assessment of physical therapist practice The physical remedy profession is committed to transubstantiating society by optimizing movement to ameliorate the mortal experience.
