Abstract | ||||
At the ends of the thirteenth century AD; Threats befell the Armenian kingdom of Cilicia with the collapse of the Crusaders rule in the east at the hands of the aspiring Mamluks. The research shows how political unrest had the deepest impact on the religious policy of the Armenian kings of Cilicia, which cast a shadow over the conditions of the Armenian Catholicosate. The research deals with a critical stage in the history of Armenian Catholicosate, and studies its last days in Hromkla, and then the transfer of its headquarter to Sis, the research also shows the difference between the position of the Armenian clergy in Greater Armenia and the position of the religious leaders in the Armenian kingdom of Cilicia, from the idea of unity between the Armenian Church and the two churches: Byzantine and Latin, through what was written by Stepanos Orbelian, Metropolitan of Siunik. | ||||
