It was founded in the first half of the fourth century AD. Since its inception, the Church of Abyssinia has been associated with the Church of Alexandria.. The relationship continued between them until some voices appeared calling for the need to separate the spiritual relationship between the two churches. This coincided with the spread of a mythical idea that emerged during the period of the Crusades about the kingdom of St. John. Whose kingdom lies behind the Muslim Countries. Since that news broke, the kings of Europe have begun to search for the kingdom to ally with it to confront Islamic forces, this alliance was followed by great efforts made by the Jesuit clergy in the hope of converting the Church of Abyssinia from its orthodox doctrine to the Catholic one. | ||||
