Abstract | ||||
The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber is one of the best stories by the greatest American writer Ernest Hemingway. Let us analyze this short and a very interesting story. Firstly, it was noted that Ernest Hemingway first published “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber” in the September, 1936, issue of Cosmopolitan magazine (2) concurrently with "The Snows of Kilimanjaro”(3). Later, it was among the stories collected in Hemingway’s The Fifth Column and the First Forty-Nine Stories (2). It was filmed in 1947 as The Macomber Affair, starring Gregory Peck and Joan Bennett | ||||
