Abstract | ||||
During the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 winter seasons, this experiment was conductedunderplastic houses conditions in Fayoum Governorate Egypt, to investigate the effects ofsome stimulants on cucumber growth, yield and fruit qualityof cucumber (Cucumissativus L.) Barracuda F1 hybrid. This experimentincludedninetreatmentsas follows: Sprayingwith tap water (control), sodium selenate(NaSel) at 2,4 and 6mg/l,humic acid (HA) at 1, 2 and 3 g/l,potassium silicate(KSil at 4and6 ml/l. These treatmentswere arranged in arandomized complete block designwith three replicates ,Sprayingcucumber plantswith HA at 3 g/l or KSil at 6 ml/lincreaseddry weightof leaves, branches and shoots/plant, chlorophyll a, bandtotal(a+b),number of fruits/plant, average fruit weight, yield/plant andyield /m2. Foliar spray withKSil at 6 ml /l increased TSS, Vit.C, DM% and K contentsin fruits,whereas HA at 2 and 3 g /lorKSil at 4or at6 ml /l increased fruit length.It can be concluded that cucumbers are highly responsive to foliar applications of potassium silicate and humic acid, followed by selenium spraying, and the yield can be increased by 58.64 % and 48.79 %, respectively, by spraying with potassium silicate at 6 ml/l and humic acid at 3 g/l (average two seasons). | ||||
