Abstract | ||||
A .trials was carried out at Borollous site, Kalr EL-Sheikh Governors-ta, North Nile Delta region during the winter seasons of 2063 and 2004, to study the effect of organic and biofertilizers on snap bean plant growth, yield and its components as well as pod quality, under clear polyethylene low tunnels and using iertigation through drip < /p> irrigation system. The results can be summarized as follows: - Vegetative growth i.e., plant height, number of leaves, stern diameter, plant dry weight percentage, number of branches per plant and plant leaf area showed increasing the values towards the use of chicken manure with biotertilizer compared with chemical and compost fertilizers. Application of chicken manure ai the rate oi 3-3 mailed. with bicie. ilizer gave the highest early and total yield of pods than other treatments. Chicken manure treatment plus biofertilizer improved pod content of NP. K. and total sugars. The addition of hictertilizer to the organic manure (compost or chicken manure) enhanced the biological activity of total microbial count i.e., count of nitrogen fixing bacteria, both dehydrogenase and nitrogenase activities and 00; evolution. These results were in comparison with the treatments received organic manure only at the rate of 10 m“: fed'I. Results also revealed that the highest soil bioiogical activity was due to the application of 40 m? chicken manure plus biolertilizer in both tested seasons. Accordingly, this study ensured that the use of organic fertilizers accompanied with biotertilizers was more beneficial than the use of organic fertilizers alone in bopth tested seasons. ' | ||||
