Abstract | ||||
The fossil fuel burning is the main culprit behind global warming which resulted in greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions led by carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, key contributor to environmental pollution. The rising CO2 emissions intensity and global warming complexities have raised the importance to focus on alternative energy generation options. The serious concerns over fossil fuel consumption, issue of energy security, and GHG emissions challenges have brought attention to clean energy sources among public and policy analysts as well. Clean energy options (nuclear energy and renewable energy) have emerged as alternate energy source and effective tools to combat the hazards of climate change . As a part of the new energy policy strategy, many countries are focusing on increasing the share of nuclear energy supply to diversify energy supply, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels with volatile prices, increase energy stability and security. | ||||
