Abstract | ||||
The insecticidal aciivity of pesticides be'Jnging to differen' groups. Iipronlt cypermethrin. malathion. irnidaclourid and azadirachtin was testeo against males. females and larvae of the Red Palm Weevil (RPW). Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier). by both the feeding cod the topical application methods. Fipronil was the most effective one with lC;o values of 0.00033. 0.;)00024 and 0.000031 % against larvae. males and females. respectively by the feeding method. Azadirachtin was the leas: effective pesticide with LC~o values of 1.68. > L sno > 2 % a;ainst the above mentioned stages. rescectively. In the case of topical application t'.»)dcity. r,pronil w.s also the most effective insecticide. Generally, insects were more susceptible to the tested insecticides through the feeding route than they were through the topical application route. | ||||
