Abstract | ||||
Textiles have been used in the medical field since ancient times, so it is not new. This and with the technological development has led to the emergence of a new branch known as medical textiles, which falls under the branch of technical fabrics. The most common forms of textile use in the medical fields are the making of patient bedspreads, hospital and intensive care room curtains, health care workers' clothing (surgical gowns, face masks, headgear and shoes), suture anchors, sterilization rolls, molded fibers and braces / or those. The purpose of this study is to use carbon fibers in medical clothes (surgical gowns) and to make a difference in the fabrics composition as well as the nature of the fibers with the addition of some other treatments and a comparison between them and the normal surgical gowns. It was found through the results that the treated fabrics outperformed the fabrics of ordinary surgical gowns in terms of durability represented ( tensile strength), bacteria resistance, fluid permeability resistance and more resistance to wetness. However, it was higher resistance to air permeability. | ||||
