Abstract | ||||
The dhimmis are governed by a contract with Muslims in which the rights and duties of each of the two parties، i.e. the rights of the state over the People of the Book as citizens living under its protection and care، are defined. Connecting the Muslim with the people of dhimmis in the Almighty’s saying، “Allah forbids you not، with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes، from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.” In this verse، the Holy Qur’an established general rules and disciplined systems that govern the relationship of a Muslim with dhimmis. It appeared clearly in the guidance of our Prophet Muhammad، may God’s prayers and peace be upon him، and his honorable companions، and his successors later with the people of Dhimmis. Therefore، they contributed to building the first building block of Islamic civilization. The Umayyads sought help from the dhimmis in financial and clerical jobs to benefit from their administrative experience at the beginning of their affair. | ||||
