Abstract | ||||
Ouda Pasha Agency (in Arabic: Wikala) is considered as one of the few remaining Ottoman agencies in Cairo. It has archaeological and architectural values. However, it did not receive enough attention for its protection and preservation despite the rehabilitation works on archaeological buildings in its urban. The Agency suffers from collapse of some of its parts as a result of lack of archeological awareness, neglect and improper use which threatens the disappearance of its remains and henceforth, loss of its values. Therefore, the study aims to assess the current situation of the Agency and propose a specific and detailed study for its rehabilitation, presentation and raising awareness of it. The research findings indicate that the current situation of the Agency, the danger that it is exposed to, and the need for urgent intervenes with the necessary conservation work. Also, reusing the Agency in an appropriate function will help to maintain it and integrate it within its urban, especially since the proposed use as a commercial craft center and a hotel with a special character will suit the capabilities of the building and will fit the needs of the urban. | ||||
