Abstract | ||||
The fundamental goal of the present study was carried out to generate novel metal complexes based on benzimidazole (BI) as a precursor with Cu and Zn cations. Herein, Cu-BI and Zn-BI complexes were prepared and characterized via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV–visible, 1H NMR, and mass spectra. Moreover, antimicrobial activity of the benzimidazole, the zinc, and copper complexes was evaluated using different methods as disc agar and colony forming techniques. The obtained results revealed that the Cu-BI complex could offer the best antimicrobial activity. | ||||
