Environmental issues and current climate changes are influenced by unsustainable infrastructure, the global trend began to search for approaches to deal with these particular issues and reduce the negative effects on the natural and human environment. Cities and urban agglomerations. The research aims to identify and formulate the criteria that define an GGBI approach through a methodological framework that helps decision-makers and stakeholders. The research followed the following steps, from defining the basic concepts and their development of green infrastructure to blue infrastructure, and its basic principles and benefits, to defining the most important basic criteria to ensure the sustainability of urban communities using the GGBI criteria and then determining the validity of these criteria for the Egyptian case to reach the desired results of the research.
