Dr. Nehad Ahmed Makram Ahmed Abdel Samad Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Science/King Saud University abstract African countries have taken a path to achieve regional cooperation between them. Leaders have worked since the signing of the Abuja Treaty in June 1991, in order to achieve regional integration, The idea started with the establishment of the Economic Community, then the Protocol on Relations between the African Economic Community and the Regional Economic Communities, It was signed by African countries in February 1998, Then the Union of African States finally established the African Union on May 26, 2001.In the first ministerial conference, They discussed the necessity of reducing the number of African gatherings, because this negatively affects the future of integration among African countries.Everyone agreed to identify major groups in March 2006: COMESA, SADC, ECOWAK, CEN SAD, ECCAS, IGAD, and UMA.Thus, regional integration becomes one of the main ways to achieve development. key words | ||||
