Abstract | ||||
Lateral loads such as wind loads and seismic loads are considered as a major concern at the present time. Also, there are many challenges that every designer faces, which are to provide sufficient strength and stability against lateral loads. There are many things that are necessary for structural engineers, which is the correct understanding of the seismic performance of different types of shear walls. Seismic design and this performance require extensive research to develop reliable non-linear models as well as to assess capabilities. There are several solutions to resist lateral loads, however shear walls are considered the best solution to resist this problem in multi-storey buildings. They work to enhance the strength and rigidity of the building in the direction specified for it. This in turn leads to a significant reduction in the lateral sway of the building and strengthen the buildings against lateral loads such as wind and seismic loads. | ||||
