Abstract | ||||
Effect of pre-soaking of soybean seeds in GA3 or IAA treatments on number, dry weight, nitrogen, protein, leghaemoglobin, MDA contents and SOD activity in nodules of soybean Glycine max (L.) Merr. cv. Crawford was studied under different salinity levels (control, 6 and 12 dS/m) in a greenhouse experiment. The studied parameters were severely inhibited due to irrigation with saline water and the impact was more obvious at the vegetative stage. Application of growth regulators, reduced the determined effect of salinity on nodulation, nitrogen, protein and leghaemoglobin contents and decreased the extent of membrane damage which was monitored by measuring the MDA content.
