Abstract | ||||
Rice is a strategic crop in Egypt, in addition to being one of the cheapest resources of energy and carbohydrates necessary for humans. The research aims at identifying the price differences between local and international prices of rice, and measuring the impact of these changes on both producers and consumers. This is to be done by estimating the partial balance model for identifying the implicit taxes levied, or the size of the local subsidiary on producers and consumers, in the period (1995-2010). | ||||
