Abstract | ||||
Sixteen seed varieties of broadbean crop were screened for their relative susceptibility or resistance against infestation by the two storage bruchids, Calbsobruchus chinensisand C maculatusin a non-choke condition. Many. biological parameters were studied as fecundity, eggs hatching (%), mean developmental period (MOP days), adult emergence (%) and the values of growth index or susceptibility index (SI). The resultant weight loss was also calculated on the dry weight back All tested parameters were found in a vulnerable level but the seed varieties were more susceptible to infestation by C chinensisthan C maallatus in respect to the values of the susceptibility index (SI) and weight loss. | ||||
