Abstract | ||||
Foreign trade plays an important role in state economies in general, and developing countries in particular. Exports contribute to the GDP and raising foreign currency funds necessary for financing imports. The inability of Egyptian exports to match the continuous increase in imports led to a corresponding continuous gap in Egyptian trade balance. The geographic distribution of Egyptian exports showed that important international markets importing Egyptian onions are: the KSA, Russia, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan, the Netherlands, the UK, and Romania. It was also shown that the important international markets importing Egyptian potatoes are: Russia, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Germany, the UK, Ukraine, and the Netherlands – for the period (2007-2011). | ||||
