Abstract | ||||
The study aimed at identifying the size of the gap in the yield of sugar cane and their causes, as well as proposals that could contribute to reduce the size of theproductivity gap. The study was conducted in the province ofMinya and Qena. In Qena, the four largest districts in terms of area were chosen, the largest two villages were choosen from each district. The data of this research was collected by interview (focused group discussion) using the interview designed for this purpose by a group of sugar cane growers in each village of the selected villages, and the number of respondents to each group varied from 12 respondents. The total respondents were 192. Data was collected during the month of August, September 2010; data were analyzed by the descriptive manner, and used the tabular presentation of the numbers and frequencies, the percentage to display results.
