Abstract | ||||
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of cultivating Egyptian clover in calcareous soils on the availability of nutrients in the soil when irrigated with water of different quality after harvest. Soil interaction, salinity, cation exchange capacity, organic matter content, macro nutrients (NPK) and micro nutrients iron, zinc, manganese and copper, as well as saturation percentage (SP) as a potential indicator for estimating the field capacity (FC) and wilting point (WP) were measured. The most important results of the study after planting Egyptian clover (Trifolium alexandrinum,L.) indicated that the soil properties improved, where the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content in the soil irrigated with saline water where (6.55 mg kg-1), (4.41 mg kg-1) and (90.70 mg kg-1), respectively . While the content of soil irrigated with Nile water the three elements were (30.00 mg kg-1), (4.41 mg kg-1), (155.00 mg kg-1), respectively, with a significant decrease in the amount of microelements iron, manganese, zinc and copper.
