Abstract | ||||
The research aimed to determine the degree of respondents' use of some information and communication technology applications in the agricultural extension work, which are mobile phones, computers, and Internet applications, and to identify the obstacles to their use of these applications with regard to (extension work environment, agricultural extensionists, and farmers). This research was conducted on 153 respondents, representing the total agricultural extensionistsatBehaira Governorate; data were collected during September 2022by a questionnaire. Frequencies, percentages, weighted average, simple correlation coefficient, and chi-square, were used in data analysis. The most important results were: 1- The respondents use the mobile phone in their performance of eleven extension activities in the extension work, foremost of which is contacting farmers and local leaders with a weighted average of 2.63, and they use the computer in their performance of nine activities, foremost of which is writing extension reports with 2.28, in addition to use Internet applications in their performance of eight activities, foremost of which is publishing pictures of extension meetings via Facebook, with 2.58. 2- One of the most important obstacles to the use of information and communication technology applications in extension work which is related to the extension work environment is the decrease in material and non-material support, with a weighted average of 2.52, and for the one related to agricultural extensionists is the lack of agricultural extensionists numberby 2.85, and for the one related to farmersis the illiteracy high rate among farmersby 2.75. | ||||
