| Abstract | ||||
| Coptic manuscripts are considered the most important keys to the study of Coptic science from all historical, archaeological, artistic and cultural aspects. Al-Minya, where this manuscript is a different model from the decorative models of manuscripts dating back to the nineteenth century AD, and the aim of studying this manuscript is to make an analytical technical study of the written, geometric and vegetal decorative elements in the manuscript, in addition to an explanation of the uses of yota art within the manuscript in the decorations of crosses, benches and marginal decorations. And the use of Coptic letters in decorations, documenting the scribe interested in the copyist and his name inside the manuscript, and including praise for Saint George, to achieve the objectives of the study. The resarch described it artistically, and traced the decorative elements, inscriptions, and The writings contained on the manuscript under study, analyzing it and knowing its purpose, to reach in the end a set of results, including that the personality of the scribe, his artistic taste and the surrounding capabilities have a very important role in the decoration of manuscripts, despite the fact that this manuscript dates back to the nineteenth century AD, where the flourishing of decorations and pictorial scenes of manuscripts However, the decorations of the bench and crosses, as well as the decorations of the initial letters, were rudimentary and devoid of colors and gilding. | ||||
