Abstract | ||||
Maize is one of the most important strategic crops in Egypt, because it is a food crop for humans and animals, and it is also used in many food industries, in addition to being one of the main imported crops in Egypt, as the value of its imports represents about 13% of the total value of agricultural imports, so the government seeks To increase the total production of maize through horizontal expansion by increasing the cultivated area, or vertical expansion by increasing productivity. Despite this, the data indicate a slow growth in the cultivated area of maize, with an annual growth rate of 2%, as well as a decrease in productivity at an annual rate of about -0.4. % during the period (2002-2021). The study dealt with the productive merit and indicators of economic efficiency per acre of maize, where the productivity shows the places in which the government can expand the cultivated areas of maize, and the indicators of economic efficiency are among the most important statistics that have an effective impact on farmers' decisions, | ||||
