Abstract | ||||
A field study was carried out during the two consecutive summer seasons of 2021 and 2022 at the farm of Tag El-Ezz, Dakahlia governorate, Agriculture Research Center, Egypt, (located at30o 59 N latitude,31o 58 E longitude´) to study the effect of applying different fertilization sources N-fertilization and Zinc on yield and yield components of maize (Zea mays L.)plants. Each experiment included twelve treatments which were the combinations of the three different nitrogen source treatments (100%of the recommended mineral-N, 50%mineral-N+50%organic-N and 50%mineral-N+50%organic-N+bio-N) and four treatments of Zinc (Control, zinc sulfate, zinc EDTA and zinc nano). The experimental design was a split-plot system in randomized complete blocks with three replications. The main plots were allocated for N-sources, whereas, the sub-plots were occupied by Zinc forms as a foliar application. The results revealed that the application of mineral N with organic manure in combination with bio N resulted in increased yield and yield components significantly. Application of50%mineral-N+50%organic-N combined with bio-N produced higher ear length, grains weight ear-1, grain yield, and biological yield of maize. The results showed that the foliar application with zinc improved yield and yield components of maize and higher ear length, number of rows ear-1,number of grains row-1,100-grain weight, grains weight ear-1,grain yield and biological yield as compared with the control. The best results came from the ZnO nanoparticle treatment(ZnO-NPs). Hence, it can be concluded that fertilizing maize plants with 50%mineral=N+50%organic-N+bio-N in combined with spraying plants with zinc nano had a significant effect on yield and yield components of maize. | ||||
