Abstract
The prehistoric cultures are considered one civilization although spacing places; Different means of expressions and dissimilarity human Minds. the manifestations of that civilizations are varied between lives of caves; rock drawings and mud architecture, The themes in this period also interested in the study of Pottery, Stone Tools; Ivory and bone Industries
Man lived in prehistoric time’s difficult life with animals which were a partner with him, then animals were important and influential in prehistoric times, and they used in many purposes and functions
The employment which I mean here is “the animal-based industries”, The theory is that: “Necessity is the mother of invention”; So man in prehistoric period has Used everything in the environment as raw materials and natural resources to serve the purposes of life, The animal was one of those sources, it was used as a source of human food, and used in many of business, Therefore we can say that: man used all resulted in several purposes facilitated his ways of life.
The bone industry was one of the most important Features which known to man in prehistoric times, especially in Egypt and Mesopotamia, man used it in several purposes as Spearhead, Hook, Needles As well as fighting bone tools, Horn Industry, Bone Knives, bone Statues and etc.
Animal bones Industry did not stop at this point, there were individual cases of the unusual industries; for example the manufacture of musical instruments; the use of bone fragments as huge ladder or as an Element in housing construction, and various other uses.
کانت ثقافة عصور ما قبل التاريخ واحده وان اختلفت طرق التعبير عنها ، فما بين حياة الکهوف والرسوم الصخرية والعمارة الطينية دارت محاور الاهتمام بدراسة تلک الحقب الزمنية، وما بين صناعات الفخار والأدوات سواء من الحجر أو العاج أو العظام کان التنوع بين شتى حضارات عصور ما قبل التاريخ.
عاش انسان عصور ما قبل التاريخ حياة صعبة  تقاسم فيها سبل العيش مع الحيوان الذى کان رفيقه فى تلک الحياة، ولقد کان للحيوان أهميته ودوره الفعال آنذاک ، ومن ثم کان له توظيفة واستخدامه فى أغراض عده ، والتوظيف الذى أعنيه هنا ليس فقط التوظيف الفعلى للحيوان أو الدور الذى لعبه الحيوان فى حياة أصحابه، وانما أقصد به أيضاً الصناعات القائمة على الحيوان، فانطلاقاً من قاعدة الحاجة أم الاختراع استخدم انسان عصور ما قبل التاريخ کل ما وفرته له البيئة من خامات ومصادر طبيعية لخدمة أغراضه الحياتية، وکان الحيوان أحد تلک المصادر، اذ اعتمد عليه الانسان کمصدر للطعام، واستخدمه فى کثير من الأعمال؛ وکذلک استخدم کل ما نتج عنه فى أغراض عدة يسرت له سبل الحياة.
کانت الصناعات العظمية واحدة من أهم الصناعات التى عرفها الانسان فى عصور ما قبل التاريخ لاسيما فى مصر وبلاد الرافدين، واستخدمت العظام الحيوانية فى أغراض عده بحسب ما تقتضيه الحاجة، فاستخدمت فى صناعة الرماحُ القصيرة والخطاطيف والإبر والمخارز.
کما صنع إنسان عصور ما قبل التاريخ فيما بعد آلات القتال من الحجر وکذلک من العظام أو القرون، وشهدت مصر وبلاد الرافدين ذلک التوظيف الحيوانى بوضوح فى شتى مناحى الحياة، فعرفت فيهما صناعة الأدوات العظمية ولکن بطرق جديدة، ثم في فترات لاحقة صنع إنسان هذا العصر تماثيل للحيوانات ودمى أنثوية من العظام والعاج، هذه الصناعات والفنون کانت بدائية بوجه عام، إلا أنها تطورت ونضجت في أواخر هذه العصور، إذ زاد الإنسان من تصنيع العظام ونحتها.
ولم تقف استخدامات العظام الحيوانية عند هذا الحد، ولکن کان هناک حالات فردية لاستخدامات أخرى غير شائعة الظهور؛ کأن يتم استخدام اجزاء من العظام الحيوانية فى صنع الآلات الموسيقية، أو استخدام الأجزاء العظمية الضخمة کدرج أو خلافه کعنصر معمارى فى تشييد المساکن .. الى غير ذلک من استخدامات أخرى متنوعة.
