Abstract
The introduction started for the surface archaeological survey procedures at the both banks of Atbara   River (east west bank). From the Atbara area at Nile North West to Siydoon area in the south east.
   And the work was started at the base of the master degree thesis presented in archaeology of Lower Atbara from Khartoum University of archaeological research filed to reach general concluding concerning paleo- settlements and to extend acquaintance of the area study and regard it a part of the a well known Sudanese archaeology and with the aim of registration and documentation of archaeological sites possible matter for protecting it for the human and nature elements in the future.
بدأ التمهيد لإجراء أعمال المسح الآثاري السطحي علي ضفاف نهر أتبره بالضفتين اليمني واليسري من ملتقي نهر أتبره بالنيل في الشمال الغربي حتي منطقة سيدون في الجنوب الشرقي. وکان العمل بداء على أساس  رسالة الماجستير المقدمه في الآثار من جامعة الخرطوم عن آثار أدني نهر أتبره واستمرارية العمل الآثاري في المنطقة. ونتائجه  النهائية بتسجيل کل المواقع الآثارية السطحية بمنطقة الدراسة.
 ونحاول إتباع المنهجية الحديثة في مجال البحث الآثاري للوصول إلى استنتاجات عامه بشأن أنماط الاستيطان البشري القديم، وتوسيع المعرفة المتعلقة بمنطقة الدراسة واعتبارها جزء من الآثار السودانية المعروفة. وبهدف جعل تسجيل المواقع الآثارية وتوثيقها أمر ممکن للمحافظة والحماية عليها من العوامل البشرية والطبيعية في المستقبل.
