Abstract | ||||
The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of common types of chromium supplementation on productive performance, Kidney and Liver function indices, Antioxidant indices, economic efficiency and European production efficiency factor in broiler chickens. A total of 120 unsexed broiler chicks (Arbor Acres) at 7 days of age were randomly distributed into 4 experimental groups with 6 replicates of 5 birds. Birds of the first (T1) group served as the control group were fed the basal diet without any addition, the 2nd (T2) group was fed diets containing 2mg/kg chromium chloride (Cr Cl3) as a powder, the 3rd (T3) group was fed diets containing 2mg/kg chromium yeast (CrY) as a powder, and 4th (T4) group was fed diets containing 0.2mg/kg chromium nano (CrN) as a powder. During the period (25-27) and (31-33) days, the all treatments from T1 to T4 were exposed to heat stress for 4 hours per day (10:00 AM to 2:00 PM) at (34°C) and (70-75%) relative humidity. Chicks fed diet with CrN and CrY to broiler chicks diets led to a significant (p≤0.05) improvement in body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, economic efficiency, European production efficiency factor, liver and kidney functions as evidenced by the increased Alkaline phosphatase and decrease in aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase while, it was not significant differences in the serum uric acid, creatinine and uric acid/creatinine ratio. It also added CrN under heat stress lead to significantly increased serum superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxides. | ||||
