Abstract | ||||
The study aims to demonstrate a new measurement of level of human development in Egyptian governorates. The present guidance is not sufficient to measure human development in national level because the indicators included in this measurement didn't interpret the definition of human development completely. The new measurement depends on ten indicators which the level of human development will enhance if their values increased. Data of these indicators were collected except for frontier governorates during the period (2003-2005) in Egypt. The results revealed that rate of read and write, number of cinema's customers annually, adjusted income by dollar, percentage of female labor force, percentage of dwelling supplied with safe water and the expected age at birth are the main indicators of new measurement. New measurement indicated that urban governorates showed higher levels of human development. This can be justified by that there exists a great intention in different aspects and fields of human development in these governorates while Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt showed lower levels of human development. | ||||
