Abstract | ||||
Statement of problem. The accuracy of recently introduced chairside computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) blocks is not well established, and marginal integrity and internal adaptation are not known. Purpose. The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the marginal accuracy of hybrid and nanoceramics. Material and methods. The marginal accuracy of 2 polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) materials (Vita Enamic [VE]; Vita Suprinity [VS]) were compared with lithium disilicate (IPS e.max. CAD, IPS). 30 natural premolar teeth of average size will be prepared (n=10 each group) by computer numerical control (CNC) to fulfill the criteria of all ceramic crown design. Optical impressions will be taken for the dies using the CAD/CAM scanner. 30 crowns shaped samples will be milled from ceramic blocks based on the optical data. A total of 30 crown samples will be fabricated using CAD/CAM system, and divided into three groups (IPS e.max, VE and VS). The vertical marginal gap will be measured using stereomicroscope before, after cementation and after thermo mechanical cyclic loading. The collected data during the study will be statistically analyzed using appropriate statistical analysis methods. Results. No statistically significant difference in vertical marginal gap within or between groups of three tested materials before, after cementation and after thermo mechanical cyclic loading. Conclusions. The marginal adaptation values were within a clinically acceptable range for all ceramics tested. | ||||
