| Abstract | ||||
| Digital technology in the current era is witnessing a tremendous development and it has become difficult to keep up with it due to the large number of inventions, innovations and creations that this rich field of knowledge is famous for, and which have been reflected in the daily life of individuals and societies, and at the present time digital transformation has become of great importance, so the Supreme Council of Universities has started training on Fundamentals of digital transformation and developing a comprehensive plan to train and qualify the university community in all its categories on digital transformation programs. Despite the emergence of modern methods of digital technological applications in the field of education and training in general, the field of clothing and textiles, and patterns in particular, need to introduce more digital technological developments and bring about a change in order to bring the educational and training process to a better digital level. The pattern preparation process is one of the basic pillars on which the production process in the field of clothing depends, as the success of design and production as a whole depends on it. Therefore, the person designing and preparing patterns must have a high degree of competence and skill in preparation and the ability to develop and adapt pattern in all ways according to the requirements Design and its understanding of different human body patterns. (Sleem, Mogeda Mamoon ، Al-Sakhawy, Shaima Abdel Moneim: 2021 AD) In line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and Egypt's strategy to achieve digital transformation, the research works to improve digital services related to the field of clothing and textiles in general and the specialization of patterns in particular by improving the work environment and providing support for specialists by preparing a digital training program for specialists aimed at training on building a two-dimensional digital pattern and simulating it to Three-dimensional. Research problem: The research problem arose through a pilot study, where two questionnaires were prepared, one for graduates of the Department of Clothing and Textiles, and the other for manufacturers in ready-made garment factories, "Department of sample and pattern". It has already been shown that despite the existence of various programs for building two-dimensional patterns and three-dimensional programs, there is a dearth of linking these programs with each other in a scientifically regulated manner. Graduates of the Department of Clothing and Textile and manufacturers in the Department of "pattern and sample". In light of the above, the research problem is summarized in the following questions: 1- What is the possibility of preparing and designing a proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital pattern and simulating them for three dimensions? 2- What is the effectiveness of the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital pattern and simulating them for three dimensions on the cognitive achievement of the trainees? 3- What is the effectiveness of the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions on the skillful performance of the trainees? 4- What are the trainees' opinions about the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions? Objectives: 1- Preparing a proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions. 2- Measuring the effectiveness of the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions in terms of the trainees' cognitive achievement. 3- Measuring the effectiveness of the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions in terms of the skillful performance of the trainees. 4- Measuring the trainees' opinions about the proposed training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions. Importance of the study: The importance of the research is due to: 1- Keeping pace with contemporary global trends and in response to achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 to employ digitization in the educational and training process. 2- Improving the educational and industrial process and increasing its efficiency to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market. 3- Achieving sustainability by moving out of the ways of building traditional patterns and adopting modern ways to access digital patterns and benefit from them in the educational and industrial process. 4- Contribute to the preparation of graduates who have the necessary specifications for the needs of the labor market and reduce the high rates of unemployment. 5- May contribute to the development of clothing and textile curricula in general and the design of digital patterns in particular. 6- Contributes to achieving sustainable development by providing tools for building patterns in the traditional way. 7- It may contribute to achieving Egypt's vision 2030 AD by achieving digital transformation in the clothing industry, as it is one of the largest industries in Egypt. Methodology: - This research followed a semi-experimental approach due to its suitability to achieve the objectives of the study in measuring cognitive achievement and skill performance related to the skills of building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions. - This research also followed the descriptive approach to measure the trainees' opinions towards learning in the proposed digital training program. Sample: The research sample consisted of (48) trainees from the Department of Clothing and Textiles, and manufacturers of the “pattern and sample” department in ready-made garment factories, who had no previous experience with the content of the training program, specialists from the “College of Home Economics - Department of Clothing and Textiles”. Tools : 1- Graduate needs questionnaire. 2- Manufacturers' needs questionnaire. 3- Digital training program content analysis form. 4- Referee form for the general, cognitive, skillful and emotional objectives of the content of the digital training program. 5- Digital training program eligibility arbitration form for application. 6- An achievement test (pre/post) to measure the trainees' collection of information in the proposed digital training program and to measure its validity and reliability. 7- A skill test (pre/post) to measure the trainees' acquisition of the skills included in the proposed digital training program and to measure its validity and reliability. 8- An assessment scale to evaluate the performance of the trainees in acquiring the skills of building and grading the two-dimensional digital pattern and its three-dimensional simulation. 9- A questionnaire to measure the trainees' opinions about the training program for building and grading the two-dimensional digital pattern and simulating it for three dimensions. Delimitations: The research was limited to the following: Objective: Preparing and designing a digital training program for "building and grading a two-dimensional digital pattern and simulating it into three dimensions" and measuring its effectiveness. Temporal: The training took (50 hours) during the summer vacation for the academic year (2021/2022 AD). Spatial: the training unit of the Faculty of Home Economics - Helwan University and the computer laboratory of the Department of Clothing and Textile. Human: (48) trainees from the clothing and textile department, and manufacturers of the "pattern and sample" department in ready-made garment factories, have no previous experience with the content of the training program. Procedural steps for preparing a digital training program for building two-dimensional and three-dimensional digital models: The (ADDIE) model was followed because of its effectiveness at the experimental level, where in the first stage (analysis) the objectives of the program, the needs of the community, and the analysis of work and tasks were identified, and the problem was precisely identified through preparing two questionnaires to identify training needs, and possible solutions to them, Determine the target group for training. The second phase (design) included defining procedural objectives, and at this stage outlines were drawn up for the contents of the program, where the content was divided into three topics: Topic One: Digital Transformation of Clothing Patterns, Topic Two: Building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns using the Gerber system, Topic Three Simulation of 3D digital patterns using CLO 3D software. In the third stage (development), the outputs of the design process were translated from blueprints and scenarios into a real training program, where the digital training content of the program was divided into videos in a sequential and sequential manner according to the training content of the program, and they were prepared and recorded, then modified and video montages were made using the (Camtasia) program. The videos have been uploaded to Google Drive. The interface of the digital training program was also designed, which contains the two-dimensional digital pattern and the three-dimensional simulation pattern, and a digital file was created that contains training videos, and an activated link is embedded in each video image that transfers the trainee to the chosen training video, and the link appears by simply pointing to the image. A form was prepared to judge the eligibility of the digital training programme. The proposed digital training program was presented to a group of arbitrators to ensure the correctness of the organization and logical sequence of information, the program's absence of errors, the clarity of the information provided, the clarity of the video image, in addition to the extent of synchronization of the voice commentary with the recorded video. The success of the digital training program was determined in achieving the objectives for which it was set through the evaluation, and for this reason the program included various evaluation methods that include knowledge and skill aspects and the preparation of appropriate tools to measure this knowledge and skills included within the digital training program. The evaluation tools include the following: (an achievement test - a skill test - an assessment scale - a questionnaire of the trainees' opinions). The validity and reliability of the evaluation tools were also measured through the appropriate method for each tool. The fourth stage (application) included the actual implementation of the digital training, as the computer lab was equipped in the college and the system for building two-dimensional clothing patterns (Gerper ACCUMARK) and a three-dimensional program (CLO 3D) were downloaded on computers in addition to the laptops of the trainees, making sure that run it. The achievement / skill test was applied pre-application to the research sample, then the digital training program was applied, and after completing the training of the topics of the training program, the achievement / skill test was applied post-application, and the data was monitored and dumped into the files, and the fifth stage (calendar) included measuring The extent of the efficiency and effectiveness of training through the formative evaluation (ongoing), final evaluation (after the actual use of the program). Results summary: First: The effectiveness of the digital training program: the results proved the validity of the first hypothesis, which states "the effectiveness of the digital training program for clothing patterns in acquiring knowledge and acquiring skills in building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them in three dimensions." Second: The cognitive aspect of the digital training program: the results confirmed the validity of the second hypothesis, which states, "There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the trainees in the cognitive achievement test before and after applying the training program for building and grading two-dimensional digital patterns and simulating them for three dimensions in favor of the post-application" by using an achievement test, which indicates that The effectiveness and validity of the digital training program in increasing the knowledge attainment of the trainees in training on building and grading two-dimensional patterns and simulating them for three dimensions. Third: The skill aspect of the digital training program: the results proved the validity of the third hypothesis, which states that "there is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the trainees in the skill performance before and after applying the training program to build and scale two-dimensional digital patterns and simulate them for three dimensions in favor of the post-application" by using an estimate scale, which indicates The effectiveness and validity of the digital training program in acquiring the skills of building and grading two-dimensional patterns and simulating them in three dimensions for the trainees. Fourth: Trainees’ opinions about the digital training program: the results confirmed the validity of the fourth hypothesis, which states, "The trainees' opinions are positive about the way the training program learns to build and scale two-dimensional digital patterns and simulate them for three dimensions" where the trainees' opinions were positive towards the digital training program. | ||||
