Abstract | ||||
We use the mean residual life function in connection with the conditional variance to characterize the linear exponential and the truncated linear exponential distributions using the k-th record values. A characterization of the rayleigh and truncated rayleigh distributions as well as exponential and truncated exponential distributions follow as special cases. | ||||
