Abstract | ||||
OBJECTIVE : Papillary breast neoplasms are heterogenous group of diseases consisting of wide range of benign, atypical and malignant lesions . Evaluation of such papillary neoplasms is considered one of the most problematic issues in diagnosis of breast pathology depending on H&E only as they need different treatment options. Aim: To differentiate papillary breast lesions depending on immunohistochemical staining of P63, SMA, CK14, chromogranin and ER. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An immunohistochemical profile using 5 markers were conducted on 75 papillary breast neoplasms. RESULTS: Out of 75 cases, 100% of duct papillomas were positive to P63& SMA. CK14 was positive in 90% of papilloma compared to malignant lesions : DCIS , intracystic papillary carcinomas , solid papillary carcinomas which were negative (84.0% , 92.3 % , 90.0% & 100.0% ,respectively ) .Solid papillary carcinomas were positive for chromgranin. .In 90% of DCIS , 92.3% intracystic papillary carcinomas , 90.0% solid papillary carcinomas and 100% of invasive micropapillary carcinomas- ER was homogenous positive compared to papillomas with heterogenous expression with statistical significant correlation (P | ||||
