Abstract | ||||
Following a line of argument of Basu (1971), an estimator for the population variance is proposed. This estimator is shown to be admissible using the technique given by Meeden and Ghosh (1984). It is also shown that this estimator reduces to an estimator given by Chosh and Meeden (1983). | ||||
