Abstract | ||||
A microanalytic computer simulation model is provided. The model generates the reproduction histories of a hypothetical female population under a set of assumed conditions regarding marriage, deaths of woman and their spouses, conception, fecundability, secondary sterility, spontaneous abortion, postpartum amenorrhea, use of contraception, and other factors related to fertility performance. In the model, events are represented by a probability distribution of their occurrence, and a series of pseudorandom numbers is generated to determine from each of these distributions the date of each event. Input parameters used in establishing the study population are mainly selected for the Kuwaiti population. Initial results from the simulation in which birth order as well as parity varies are given. | ||||
